ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a seasoned, Los Angeles Based Creative Producer with a proven track record in the advertising and film industry to join the Marketing team at Vixen Media Group. Reporting to the Manager of Brand Strategy, the Creative Producer will be responsible for the creative development and execution oversight of a slate of unique programming and advertisements across our network of brands. This position will work closely with key stakeholders within the organization to ensure the overall vision, company standards, and voice of our brands are being maintained and executed to the highest standard. 

Serving as part creative producer and part project manager, the Creative Producer will oversee the lifespan of projects from ideation, creative development to product deployment across multiple platforms. He/she will develop and leverage content, marketing, PR, social campaigns, and product strategy to create a suite of valuable assets and compelling content that drives engagement and performance. This position collaborates closely with fellow internal creatives as well as external advertisers, agencies, and third-party vendors to manage and coordinate high-value activations and integrations. He/she will also build a network of creators, influencers, and ambassadors to help fulfill our mission to deliver distinctive, engaging, best-in-class content. 

Our ideal candidate has an innate passion for digital entertainment and short-form visual storytelling. They are an avid consumer of social media, have experience with emerging media platforms, and are driven by cultural trends, brand equity, and advertising. He/She should have the ability to manage various projects in a fast-paced environment with a creative and operational approach while upholding ambitious creative standards and delivering content on time and on budget. They possess the soft skills to recognize when to challenge conventional thinking, the courage to voice suggestions, and the maturity to accept feedback. They are highly collaborative, enthusiastic, and demonstrate leadership abilities in the face of ambiguity and challenging situations. Creative vision, hyper-organization, detail vigilance, and strong project management skills are critical for this role.   

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work in close tandem with the Manager of Brand Strategy to implement and execute content strategy, asset curation, tone, and voice across all current and emerging VMG channels and verticals to deliver a cohesive identity that shapes and communicates the brand’s vision effectively. ( ex. Membership platforms, Broadcast, Social Media, Merchandising, Email Marketing, Digital and Print Advertising, Media and Public Relations + )

  • Collaborate with Brand Strategists, Marketing Creatives, Art Directors, Film Directors, and Post-Production teams to define, develop, and implement the vision for all asset requests and shots for assigned projects.

  • Work in close partnership with the creative production teams to oversee the execution of a wide range of content initiatives, such as scene concepts, scripts, promotional materials, micro-content, etc.

  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of the VMG network brand guidelines within the scope of your role and assist in monitoring and overseeing brand quality control across our various channels. 

  • Work in close tandem with Marketing Department executives and company stakeholders to accommodate cyclical sales and marketing calendar initiatives through taking lead on developing the vision for strategic promotional campaigns inclusive of rollout strategies, asset planning, and content production in support of key projects. 

  • Plan, develop and oversee the end-to-end execution of assigned production shoots, special events, or other forms of content/branding initiatives via in-house Production, Art, and creative teams as well as outsourced content creators if/when required. (Ie. Creative Development, Pre-Production, Production, Post Production and Publishing Strategy and deployment) 

  • Contribute to the overall content strategy of VMG Studios by participating in brainstorms, evaluating pitches and proposals, and continuously developing new strategic content initiatives in the form of short-form digital content, live content, and promotional assets for VMG internal channels, social media platforms, affiliate networks. 

  • Manage relationships with key internal and external creatives, advertisers, agencies, and third-party vendors, in order to build a network of collaborators including creators, influencers, production companies, and directors.

  • Continuously observe and analyze; viral social trends, video, photo, and design techniques and evaluate content and artwork performance data as well as other creative research in order to adjust creative approach and optimize for best practice.

  • Participate and/or lead recurring and impromptu meetings such as; status update, planning, creative development, pre-production as well as on-set meetings with showrunners and creative talent to align and communicate project goals and content vision.

  • End-to-end project management/coordination on assigned projects by determining core milestones for key initiatives and projects, including; schedules, timelines, status reports meeting project goals on time and within budget across our teams.

  • Establish work back timelines, delivery dates, and deadlines for assigned projects, managing stakeholder expectations through transparent and proactive status reports and other communications. 

  • Develop and present full concept decks, treatments, shot lists, storyboards, and other previsualization methods to collaborating departments and project stakeholders. 

  • Oversee the Social Media presence of your assigned brands and projects, ensuring the intended goals are being met, the tone, voice, and presence of the body of work are executed effectively and engagement is satisfactory.  

  • Function as the primary “Producer” or “Creative Director” on some large, strategic pitches, activations, and integrations if/when required. 

  • Coordinate and consultant with a wide variety of cross-functional teams including key company and project stakeholders, Marketing, Production, Legal, Product Tech, and Sales teams as required.

  • Participate in the definition and documentation of best practices, and contribute to company knowledge sharing efforts via the development and implementation of streamlining creative processes in order to improve team structure, mitigate inefficiencies and build systems and processes that serve various cross-functional teams.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS 

  • 5+ years of advertising experience, developing and creating media for digital/social strategies and campaigns.  ( Agency experience preferred ) 

  • Degree in Marketing/advertising, film production, or fine arts.

  • A professional portfolio showcasing your work.

  • Strong working knowledge of social platforms (YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Reddit, TikTok, etc.) 

  • Keen awareness of internet culture, memes, vernacular, pop culture, etc.

  • Proficient in G-Suite, MS Office, Slack, Smartsheet, Production software (Studio Binder, Movie Magic) a plus.

  • Basic proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite; Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign.

  • Creative project management, or creative agency campaign supervision experience.

  • Must be capable and conversant in all aspects of a digital creative and asset production workflow along with general production equipment and technical knowledge.

  • Exemplary organizational skills with a disciplined approach to project and timeline management.

  • Ability to manage multiple complex initiatives and projects concurrently with ease, clearly communicating goals and milestones.

  • Ability to creatively problem-solve in a fast-paced, studio production setting.

  • Exceptional written, verbal, interaction skills in both team and group settings.

  • Willingness to travel (when it's safe to do so!)

  • Based in Los Angeles.
